Helensburgh Cricket Club was established in 1984 by local cricket enthusiasts Mick Duffy and Ron Campbell, with the support of the Centennial Hotel and a dedicated group of volunteers including Jeff Bragg, Jim Chaplin, Richard Paine and Bob Proudfoot.
The club fielded four teams in its inaugural 1984–85 season and enjoyed immediate success, with the 4th Grade side reaching the semi-finals.
Today, Helensburgh Cricket Club has grown into one of the Illawarra's leading community clubs, providing cricket opportunities for players of all ages. We field multiple junior and senior teams in Cricket Illawarra competitions, offer Cricket Blast for our youngest players, and provide clear pathways from introductory cricket through to senior and representative cricket.
With a strong focus on participation, player development and community, the club continues to build on the proud foundations established more than 40 years ago.
